  Not Being Invited To Gatherings.

  have you ever found out that your "buddies" from the kingdom hall went out to have fun and did not invite you?

  if so how did you feel?.

  Our KH was very cliquey. Us singles Mums never expected to be invited anywhere by the higher echelons of the congregation.

  About once a month I used to hold a Friday get together to watch a video and obviously children were welcome and it was suitable for them.

  I got counselled because no marrieds were ever there and I shouldn't be holding singles only get togethers. The marrieds were welcome too but were always busy, the singles who were never invited anywhere were always free.

  Another time there was a party for the children but the kids of the single parents weren't included because they couldn't invite all the children. 38 children in the congregation but the only 4 not invited were from single mums. They had room for 34 but not 38!

  Once there was a barbeque. 120 in the congregation but only space for 100. Yeah right!

  Broadcasting rebranded?

  i had to look at jw broadcasting today (aaaargh) and noticed it has had a bit of a makeover.

  it is also now called jehovah's witnesses broadcasting.. sf.

  Withdrawing community support in the congs

  i've noticed in the past 10 years that the social support that used to be available in the congs, a shoulder to cry on, elders to help with family/marriage issues these seem to have been purposely withdrawn.

  counsel is even heard from the platform that the elders are not there to help people with their problems.. so first in the 80s-90s they take away the congregation get to getters and social events and now they seem to be going one step further in taking away the emotional support for people too.. this will take away an aspect that i'm sure was keeping alot of people in the borg, the community support.

  if that's not there and its just about meetings and ministry how many will start to get their emotional support elsewhere?.

  I would like to add another even lower than old people.

  Depressed single Mum. It was after being hospitalised for depression I fully realised there was no love. None, not even pioneers had time to call on me for a coffee and the elder's wife who signed for my medication passed it on to my next door neighbour who didnt even speak English to dispense twice a day.

  I wasn't allowed to drive or cook so if it wasnt for my worldly neighbours I would not have managed and it was a born again Christian asked me "where are your brothers and sisters? Why aren't they helping you" helped me "wake up".

  while i have no pets of my own, i do care for dogs and cats and have cared for bunnies and guinea pigs in the past.

  i'm working on an essay with an 11-year-old student, and the subject is symbiotic relationships and how humans learn from their close interaction with animals.. here is a portion of the reference material under study:.

  Why NO bibles??

  i know we have all said it before, but it simply blows my mind that the jws doing cart work do not have bibles on the cart to give out to interested ones!.

  how can they say they are "bible students" trying to share the "bibles message" and not give out bibles!?.

  other christian groups take the commission to share the bible seriously!

  Their version of the Bible is free on an app. They will probably instruct people to just dowload it.

  Cancer in Animals

  we were taught sickness and death is a result of the sin inherited from adam and eve, so why do animals get cancer?

  they are supposedly still as big j intended, so therefore cancer is a creation by the big fella himself?.

  just an exercise for one's who believe in the whole bible story thing.. (not me)... any others anomalies you can think of ?

  Animals still died before the fall of Adam and Eve but apparently only from old age. They did not get sick first through organ failure or disease etc nor were they ever eaten according to JW folklore. Not sure what happened to the carcasses or if microbes consumed them. :p

  ) atlantis told him that he is walking on a razors edge,to be extremely careful.his email message:1. watch tower has no right to demand you to sign a consent form.

  Two virgin births in the Bible, who knew?

  in the famous verse from mathew chapter 1 verse 23 i believe the writer proclaims that mary a virgin was going to give birth to a son he would be called emmanuel.

  he even stated this was to fulfill a prophecy.

  thats prophecy is in isaiah chapter 7:14. .

  JWs and legalized Marijuana

  i know this was probably covered before in some post, but i was curious.

  what is the jw stance on recreational marijuana use in the states where it has been legalized?.

  i would suspect smoking it, like cigarettes, would probably still be against the rules, but there are ways to use it that aren't damaging to your lungs.

  I take CBD for its anti inflammatory and pain relieving properties. I started with crystals then oil and paste and now I vape it. There is no THC or nicotine and I have no intentions of starting smoking.

  I wonder if any of that would be categorised as "sinning".
